This program delivers funding to improve native vegetation conservation and management of threatened species and invasive plants and animals.
The Biodiversity Program recognises that over half of the catchment is protected in national parks, state forests and "special protected areas" for drinking water catchments primarily on the sandstone soils of the catchment.
However, extensive clearing has occurred on the granite, basalt and shale soils and conservation of the remaining biodiversity and restoration projects need to be an integral part of property planning.
