Annual Report 2007/08
In 2007/08 the Hawkesbury Nepean community in partnership with the Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment Management Authority restored 141 kilometres of riverbanks and protected 2160 hectares of native vegetation.
During the year, the CMA's programs and partner contributions resulted in $20.2 million directly invested in on-ground environmental improvements.
These results are highlighted in the CMA Annual Report 2007/08. Other key results for the year include: • 302 new partnership projects carried out with private landholders • 1567.30 hectares of native vegetation revegetated or rehabilitated • 2210 hectares protected from soil erosion • 161 kilometres of sensitive gullies, riverbanks and wetlands were fenced • 112,216 native plants established • 79 off-river stock watering systems installed All these projects were delivered in partnership with councils, landholders, community and landcare groups, government and non-government organisations. These results have insured the HNCMA has exceeded all our Catchment Action Plan targets for the year. |
