Investment priorities

The Hawkesbury Nepean CMA targets the investment that is available to ensure the most effective environmental outcomes. In order to support this, it has identified investment priorities to:
  • improve river health including stable and healthy riparian areas

  • protect biodiversity values improving the extent, quality and connectivity of native terrestrial and aquatic habitats

  • identify and encourage best practice in land management that supports management of land within its capability and suitability, and addresses salinity and degradation

  • undertake strategic pest plant and animal management that focuses on emerging and localised weeds, and implementing effective, coordinated control

  • support greater involvement of the Indigenous community in NRM, particularly where it provides ongoing business opportunities including the identification of Indigenous cultural values and

  • build stakeholder awareness, organisational capacity and community empowerment and resourcing that supports the implementation of the CAP.
