CMA Partnership Projects (River Health)


The Hawkesbury Nepean CMA continues to work with a range of partners to invest in river health projects managed by partner organisations under contract to the CMA.

In 2006/07 this included investing $610,500 in 6 river health projects:

To undertake best practice saltmarsh restoration at high profile community recreation sites

Estuary

Caulerpa awareness Project (DPI)

To raise community awareness of the invasive marine algae using boat ramp field days, signage and brochure

Brooklyn, Pittwater and Patonga
Riparian fencing to protect stock and estuarine water quality (DPI)

To fund landholders in the lower Hawkesbury catchment with river frontages and adjacent pasture areas to control green cestrum and carry out works to improve water quality

Lower Hawkesbury Catchment 
Productive land making more seafood...naturally (Oceanwatch)

To map habitat of the river; fund actions to improve water quality; modify barriers to fish passage; manage wetlands, riparian areas and impacts from stock
